Powerful horns, toe-tapping fiddle and contagious rhythms characterise Habadekuk – a young and lively nine-man band that catapults folk music well into the 21st century!

The vibrant mix of salsa, jazz and folk gives old Danish dance melodies a new lease of life.

The band has become synonymous with energetic, entertaining concerts. They have already wowed audiences at festivals in Denmark, Poland, Norway, Sweden and Finland. They’ve performed at venues such as Odense Folk Festival, Danish Music Award Folk and Spot Festival.

Habadekuk has been awarded ”Album of the Year” at the Danish Music Award Folk 2011 for their debut album ”Hopsadaddy”. Fiddler Kristian Bugge received the award for ”Folk Artist of the Year” at the same occasion. They’ve also won NORD ’09, the Nordic championships in folk music.

Talented musicians from various branches of the Danish music scene make up the group.
